my aims for the works were to create one of a kind pieces with character filled evidence of the making process, such as fingerprints and unfinished edges. I played with the texture of clay as a way of exploring that process. another focus was to allow the plants to be a main focus of the work as well as a medium to work with.
the last intent for these works were to make them as gifts for people, so that the works also had a purpose and weren't wasting space somewhere once they were made. this was an effort to reduce waste in my practice, both in making and once it was made.

Part of my studio work included a group exhibition. Our group had themes surrounding dreamlike phenomenological sensations and ideas. these included russian myths, nostalgia, chinese fairytales and alien landscapes (me). the others included in this exhibition were fellow massey classmates Kseniia Loseva, Siheng Dong, and Beda Bellugue O’Leary.
